Dr. Sandra Carrillo is a Medical Doctor, and Medical Cannabis Expert. She received her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Health Sciences CES, Medellin, Colombia. She worked in ER (Emergency Room) and as a GP (General Practitioner) in various hospitals. After developing an interest in Cannabis Medicine, she completed her Master’s Degree in Health Care Management in Universidad Latina of Panama. She also earned a certification as Specialist in Anti-aging Medicine from the Union Internationale of Anti Aging Medicine (France), and holds many other certifications.
Training and certification include: Society of Cannabis Clinicians (TMCGlobal) , Diplomate Certification Program for clinicians in Cannabinoid Prescription at CES University, Certified in Medical Cannabis program Oaksterdam, California, and Medical Cannabis Training Certification Puerto Rico Pharmacology University, Certified by Healer program in Prescription of Medical Cannabis, Certified by Spectrum Academy Canada (Ottawa), among others.
She is a board member of the Association of Cannabis Specialists (ACS) USA, the Association for Cannabis Health Equity and Medicine (ACHEM), and a member of the scientific boards of the Colombian Observatory of Medical Cannabis and Portugal Medical Cannabis.
Dr. Carrillo is the Clinical Professor of the Medical Cannabis, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Panama, a professor and co-creator of the Diploma Certification CES University (Colombia): Therapeutic Applications of Cannabinoids in Clinical Practice, for Doctors and Healthcare Practitioners, an honorary professor for the Diploma Certification of Cannabinoid Medicine, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and the Association of Medical Cannabis - Mexico. She was invited as a Professor for Diploma Certification in Cannabinoid Medicine at the University of San Martin de Porre (Peru) and the Medical Cannabis Association - Peru, as well as Cannabinoid Medicine certification at Thomas Jefferson University (USA). She is also the Co-Founder of the Panama Food Bank and a volunteer at the Panama Children's Epilepsy Foundation, and Medicann IPS Medical Clinics in Colombia.
Dr. Carrillo is an international speaker from more than 20 countries across 3 continents, an advocate (who participated in the draft of the Project 153 for legalising Medical Cannabis that has recently been approved by the Panamanian Senate), and an advisor for the Panamanian Ministry of Health in the amendments to the Medical Cannabis law.
